Kilkenny man crowned Mr Personality 2026
The 19th annual Mr. Personality Festival 2026 took place in Langton’s Hotel Kilkenny on the 10th and 11th of April. Patrick Walton, from Callan Macra represented Kilkenny throughout the weekend and went on to be crowned the first Kilkenny winner of Mr Personality. The festival was hosted by Kilkenny County Macra and was sponsored by Kilkenny/Carlow and District Farm Relief Services.
25 contestants travelled from across the country to Langton’s Hotel, Kilkenny for a fun-filled weekend. On Friday afternoon, the contestants were brought to the Smithwick’s experience for their first activity of the weekend. This was later followed by on-stage interviews with MC Aindriú de Paor (RTE 2FM) in The Ballroom, Langton’s, where Patrick entertained the audience with his many stories along with a hugely popular rendition of Mr Brightside. Interviews were followed by a surprise visit from a singing Garda before there was live music from ‘The Deere John’s.
On Saturday morning, Patrick completed his private interview with the three judges. It was a busy afternoon in Langton’s where our Mr Personality contestants were joined by fellow Macra members for some jiving lessons, and afterwards Patrick proudly displayed his county colours while completing team building challenges with fellow contestants. Judges for the weekend were Katelyn Cummins (Rose of Tralee 2025), James Kavanagh (TV Personality & Influencer) and Brian Leonard (UCD Lecturer).
On Saturday evening, all supporters gathered once again in Langton’s for the Gala Banquet Dinner. Hypnotist, Jason O Callaghan provided entertainment and band Sweet Freedom provided the late-night music afterwards. Patrick Walton, Callan Macra (Kilkenny) was named as Mr. Personality 2026. In second place was Joe Hennessy from Kilmallock Macra (Limerick) and third place was Jack Murphy representing UCC Macra.
